Project: Baby Book Literacy
Our goal for this project is to reach each new mother and newborn child in our local area hospitals with literacy materials. We want to encourage reading to children from an early age and develop a lifelong love of learning through reading. Our chapter uses grant money, monetary donations, and individual books given by members to give each new mother and baby in the Towanda Memorial Hospital and the Robert Packer Hospital a book to take home with them. In addition to the book, a pamphlet on literacy and learning activities is included.
Our chapter has been giving these books to the area hospitals for over ten years. In the last five years, we have been receiving grants from the Educational Foundation of DKG to help with the purchase of these books. We estimate that we reach 1,000 to 1,500 new mothers and infants each year. We also hold an annual basket raffle and use the money raised to purchase additional books. Members are also encouraged to bring children's books to any of our chapter meetings.

Project: Food Pantry
Our chapter is also involved in a community outreach project. Our members are asked to bring a canned food item to each chapter meeting. These items are collected and then delivered to the local food pantry of the community where the meeting was held.
Project: Abuse and Rape Crisis Center
At one designated meeting each year, our members are asked to bring items that are distributed to either the Bradford County or Sullivan County Abuse and Rape Crisis Center. The centers notify us with a suggested list of items.
